CRM is a model for the explicit, thorough and accurate representation of historical knowledge. History is made up of events and CRM is event-centric. It centers descriptions not around things, as most “flat” documentation schemes do, but around the events that connect people, material and immaterial things in space-time.
Thanks to its event-centric aspects CRM and consequently FRBRoo
-give an historical dimension since the full historical context of artifacts is captured. This gives the possibility to search for the cultural background of an object.
-connect historical and biographical information with bibliographical information .It can connect for example authors with biographical information, bibliographies about them etc).
-model accurate information about life histories and scientific observations about the world
Last but not least, thanks to the event-centric aspects the two ontologies can offer precise and well-organized structuring of cultural metadata.
